ZIMBABWE ARRIVIAMO!
Dopo Nairobi, dove abbiamo partecipato alla World League Round 1, un altro grande torneo ci aspetta al varco..l’Africa Cup for Club Champions! Per i non addetti ai lavori… una sorta di Champions League dell’Hockey Africano!! Quest’anno si preannuncia un torneo davvero eccezionale, con ben 10 squadre femminili e 9 maschili provenienti da tutta l’Africa: dall’Egitto al Malawi passando per il Ghana e il Kenya…
E la Tanzania? Sarà presente anche lei con la squadra femminile, la ormai famosa “Twende Hockey Club” (ricordiamo che Twende in swahili significa “andiamo!”, è un esordio ad andare avanti, a guardare al futuro!). La squadra è composta per lo più dalle stesse giocatrici che rappresentano la nazionale, con la variante che ci sarà in campo anche una tanzaniana un po’ pallida…
Il viaggio si preannuncia alquanto interessante…tre giorni di viaggio per raggiungere Bulawayo, in Zimbabwe! Dopo circa 3000 kilometri di strada, 70 ore di pullman e tre stati attraversati (Tanzania, Zambia e Zimbabwe), arriveremo a destinazione, pronte a giocare il nostro torneo.
Nel nostro girone affronteremo squadre femminili provenienti dalla Nigeria,Kenya,Ghana, Zimbabwe ed Egitto! Prima partita contro le “Plateu Queens” della Nigeria, il 22 di novembre!
Le mazze sono pronte in valigia, i passaporti sono pronti, tra poco si parte per questa fantastica avventura…
Il viaggio si sarà faticoso, il torneo di altissimo livello, ma noi faremo del nostro meglio! Grazie a tutti coloro che contribuisco a questo progetto con le loro donazioni, senza di voi partecipare a questo e altri tornei non sarebbe stato possibile! e grazie al CO.P.E e alla Federazione Tanzaniana di Hockey per il supporto nell’organizzzione..TWENDE!

ZIMBABWE HERE WE COME!
After Nairobi, where we participated in the World League Round 1, another big stage is on sight.. the Africa Cup for Club Championship! For the “general public”, it’s the Champions League for African hockey clubs!! There is much anticipation and excitement this year, as 10 women teams and 9 male squads will gather from many countries, from Egypt to Malawi, with Ghana and Kenya among other countries..
And how about Tanzania? It will also be represented with our women team! By now you should know, we’re talking about the “Twende Hockey Club” (remember, the word twende in swahili means “Let’s go!”, an incitement to look forward to the future!).
The team is made up more or less by the same players who represented the national team, plus a white looking one 🙂
The trip will be one for the ages, 3 days to reach Bulawayo, in Zimbabwe! After some 3000 thousand Km on the road, 70 bus hours through 3 different Countries to cross (Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe) we will reach our destination, ready to play our tournament.

Hockey sticks packed, passports ready, soon we’ll hit the road for this amazing adventure..
The journey will be exausting, the tournament will feature high calibre opponents, but we’ll play our harts out!
